for LDD: Endurance Axe Warrior player, standard ST Ritualist with Angelic Protection, SoS healer, and Ineptitude Mesmer. No cons on purpose. I can't remember setup for other areas.

The same as with all 4-man areas ... player E/A AP Air, SoS with Resto, N/Mo MM with prots, SoGM. Don't remember if my SoGM had Fall Back. Didn't use cons, got LDD HM first try.

Go from TOA and use 8 man team, or Yaks and use 6 if you like.
I just used me + UA + mm hero with 19 points death magic and + mes.

Can't do that for LDD.
Anyway, this thread is not just about LDD. Anyone wants to contribute their heroes team builds for HM DDF (especially if you are a melee attacker) or DD or DNKP?

No cons were used. For melee in DDF, I think I used WE axe warrior, ST rit, SoGM rit, SoS resto, panic mes, illusion mes, AotL mm, and a necro healer.

SoS channeling rit
Communing rit
ST shelter rit
N/Rt healer
The only non-rit skill I use is some random rip enchantments or whatever on the ST. No cons, breeze through every 4man quest.

Actually you can, if you're terrible at pve (like me..) or determined to run frontline, you can walk all the way from ToA (about an hour and a half), and then do the back route through the right hand side of Eastern Frontier. Makes the quest a walk in the park as you might expect.

I guess you are right.
From Toa, you need to get from the black curtain, to cursed lands, nebo terrace, north kryta province, scoundrel's rise, to griffon's mouth.
From griffon's mouth, you get to deldrimor bowl, Anvil rock, iron horse mine, traveler's vale.
Then you get to ascalon foothills, to diessa lowlands, the breach, old ascalon, regent valley, pockmark flats, into eastern frontier.
From 8-men ToA, you travel through 16 areas before reaching eastern frontier. From 6-men Yak's Bend, you travel through 7 areas before reaching eastern frontier.
And remember to talk to Warmaster Riga before you start on your journey, otherwise you have to do it all over again. Considering that you need to run through these areas in HM, it maybe more painful than the quest itself.
----------
By the way, has anyone noticed that these quests have become slightly harder ever since the first ele update?
I suggest completing them before the second ele update where the non-elite ele skills would be boosted even further.
